JEE
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India Examination conducted for admission in various undergraduate engineering courses like B.Tech, B.E. and B. Arch. Etc in one of the most prestigious institutions of India IITs, NITs, IIITs etc.
JEE Main Joint Entrance Examination will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.
JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/
JEE Advanced Exam is conducted by IIT for admission into undergraduate courses and Integrated M.Sc in IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and ISM, Dhanbad. Only top 2,24,000 performers of JEE Main and who are in top 20 percentile in their respective class XII Board Examination can appear in JEE advanced. Olympiad
The International Science Olympiads are a group of worldwide annual competitions in various areas of science. The competitions are designed for the 4-6 best high school students from each participating country selected through internal National Science Olympiads, with the exception of the International linguistic olympiad (IOL), which allows two teams per country, the International olympiad in informatics (IOI), which allows two teams from the hosting country, and the International junior sciencs olympiad (IJSO), which is designed for junior secondary students. To date there are 12 such ISOs:
NTSE
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program of Government of India. Scholarships to 1000 students is awarded on the basis of two level examination conducted by NCERT. The Scholarships under the present scheme are given to candidates to pursue courses in sciences and social sciences up to Doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second-degree level.
NTSE is conducted for Class X students. Selection Process-Identification of talent comprises two-stages. First Level NTSE conducted by the State / UT (usually in November) - FOR CLASS X STUDENTS ONLY Second Level NTSE conducted at the National Level (usually in May) – FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY IN FIRST LEVEL.
Examination papers at both levels comprise two parts-
Part-I: Mental Ability Test (MAT), and
Part-II: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) (with questions on History, Civics, Geography, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.)

Unique Features
KVPY
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, aimed at encouraging students to take up research careers in the areas of basic sciences, engineering and medicine. It offers scholarship and contingency grants up to the pre-Ph.D. level to selected students. Started in 1999, it is administered by the Indian Institute of Science.This exam is conducted for three streams SA, SB & SX.
Stream SA: Students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects) and have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.
Students promoted through both the Summative Assessments-II conducted by the school andconducted by the Board are eligible to apply, if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. If the students have obtained a letter grade in the qualified examination, they are requested to convert it into an appropriate % and fill-up the application form.
Stream SA-Mentoring Scheme: Eligibility same as above and the students need not apply separately for the Mentoring Scheme.
A Mentoring list over and above the regular merit list will be prepared. The students under the mentorship list will not be eligible for any fellowship. Their fellowship will be activated when these students enrol in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./Int.M.Sc./M.S.) after their XII Standard/(+2).
Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) for the next session provided they have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.
